After watching numerous YouTube videos about the 75 days Hard Challenge, I was intrigued by the idea of committing to such a rigorous regimen. The challenge consists of five strict rules: two 45-minute workouts per day, one of which must be outdoors, following a diet with no cheat meals, drinking a gallon of water daily, reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book, and taking a daily progress picture. Despite my hectic schedule, which includes a full-time job from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and master’s classes from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, I decided to take the plunge and announced on social media that I was embarking on this 75-day journey.

The first 10-15 days were fueled by sheer motivation. I managed to adhere to the rules diligently, and I felt an incredible sense of accomplishment. However, life threw a curveball when a family health issue demanded my attention, causing me to miss seven consecutive days of the challenge. According to the official rules, missing a day means starting over from day one. But restarting felt like a motivation killer to me, so I chose to continue from where I left off, bending the rules a bit to maintain my momentum.
Throughout the challenge, I realized that sticking rigidly to all five rules was nearly impossible given my packed schedule. Instead, I developed a rhythm that worked for me, pushing myself to stay consistent even if it meant not following the rules to the letter. There were countless days when I felt like quitting, especially as the demands of work, classes, and personal commitments piled up. Finding the time for two workouts a day, maintaining a strict diet, and keeping up with the other requirements was incredibly challenging.
What kept me going was the support and accountability from my social media posts. Sharing my progress on Facebook provided me with the motivation I needed to keep pushing forward. I was open about not following the rules strictly, but the encouragement from friends and followers helped me stay committed to finishing the challenge.
In the end, I completed the 75-day challenge, albeit not perfectly. I learned that while following the rules strictly is ideal, it’s more important to find a balance that works for you and to keep pushing towards your goals, even when life gets in the way. This journey taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of a supportive community.
If you’re considering taking on a similar challenge, remember that it’s not about perfection but about progress and persistence.
